Herbarium Studies: Flora In The Archives is a body of work that started in 2021 during my time at the Kuenstlerische Tatsachen Art & Science Residency in Jena, Germany. There, I spent two days in the archives of the Hausknecht Herbarium and generated a series of drawings and tracings from color slide film photographs. The photographs were from botanical research and science groups that traveled around the world between 1960-1990 to look at different flora. Since that residency, I have moved to Boulder, Colorado and have visited other herbaria, such as the one on the CU Boulder Campus. Continuing my interest in the depiction of plants and the cultural role of plants in time of environmental crisis, I created new artworks using acrylic, wool, 3D animation, and video.

In the summer of 2025, I was invited to exhibit the works in the group show “Matter Over Mind” at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder, CO.
