Artist Statement:
I work with traditional and contemporary art-making methods to process observations and questions I have about human and non-human relationships. Geology, ecocriticism theory, digital representations of nature, and mechanical errors inspire my compositions. My artworks utilise anthropocentric phenomena as a method to imagine a visual culture from non-human perspectives.

In the studio, I work with an array of materials and techniques such as weaving, embroidery, quilting, tufting, ceramics, welding, video, 3D modeling and animation, photography, and print-making. With different materials and techniques I feel free to explore analysing the corresponding to conditions and stories of both humans and nonhumans in a time of social and ecological unrest.

How has culture managed to build an ecological inequality between humans and non-human bodies? Is this reversible? Why does that mountain look so damn good?

I am currently based between Florida and Leipzig. I am part of the artistic staff at the Art Academy, Leipzig for media art foundation year studies.

I received my BFA in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2014. I graduated from the Art Academy Leipzig (HGB) with a Diplom Degree in New Media: Installation and Space with Prof. Joachim Blank in February 2020 with honorable distinction.

Since 2015, I have exhibited my works internationally in Germany, USA, Asia, and the Middle East with solo and two-person exhibitions in Lebanon, Germany, Austria, South Korea, and USA.

I have been published in digital and printed magazines such as Still Point Magazine, Textur Magazine, and Leipzig Glocal for my artworks and/or writings. I won 5th place in a student international art prize, Olympia, in 2017 in Tokyo.

I have received grants and stipends from the Kunstfonds Stiftung, Neustart Kultur, Kulturamt Leipzig, and Kulturstifuting Der Freistaates Sachsen.

Between 2019-2022 I taught after school textile courses at the International School Leipzig for high schoolers.

On a freelance basis, I work as an art mediator, mediating artist talks and giving tours of art and cultural events in German and English languages, in addition to costume and set design for performances and concerts, transcribing or translating artistic texts or videos, and teaching miscellaneous methods for different art classes.

Between 2019 and 2022 I was a core member and leader of the MODS International Collective which later became Contemporary L.A.R.D., an international monthly meeting group for artists living in and around Leipzig. In 2021 I was an executive chair of Kombinat Association in the Spinnerei Leipzig. Since 2020, I am a member of the Kombinat Association, a shared studio space located in the Spinnerei Leipzig, Halle 14.
